Solana Foundation, a support organization for the Solana blockchain, on Tuesday unveiled Pay.sh, a gateway service built with Google Cloud that lets AI agents pay for enterprise APIs on a per-request basis using stablecoins, with no accounts, API keys, or subscriptions required.
The service gives agents instant access to Google Cloud products including Gemini, BigQuery, Vertex AI, and Cloud Run, along with more than 50 community-sourced API endpoints spanning e-commerce, market data, communications, and on-chain infrastructure, according to a press release published Tuesday.
Pay.sh operates as an API proxy built on Google Cloud infrastructure. An agent's Solana wallet serves as its identity, and when the agent pays via x402 – an open machine-native payment protocol – the gateway authorizes the request and handles rate limits, quotas, and access controls on behalf of the provider. Settlement happens in seconds via Solana's network, with providers receiving funds in fiat after reconciliation.
The Solana Foundation said the service addresses a structural gap in the agentic economy: The most powerful enterprise APIs have historically required a human to set up accounts, manage credentials, pass KYC checks, and maintain billing relationships.
"The payment is the credential," the foundation said in the release. "It's that simple."
Pay.sh is open source and built on two open standards – x402 and MPP – so any developer or facilitator can extend it, according to the foundation.
