Privy, a crypto wallet infrastructure provider owned by payments provider Stripe, has added support for AI agents running on Amazon Web Services' Bedrock AgentCore to pay for APIs, MCP tools and web content using crypto.
When an agent tries to access an internet service or resource that requires payment, AgentCore enforces spending limits, signs the transaction through Privy and settles in USDC on Ethereum, Solana or Base, Privy said in a thread posted on X.
The integration is built on AWS Bedrock AgentCore Payments and x402, an open protocol for machine-to-machine payments, initially incubated by Coinbase but now managed as an open standard by Linux Foundation. Privy said the setup is documented and available to developers now.
The pitch is that an agent can finish a job without stopping to ask a human to swipe a card. "Now your agent can buy what it needs to finish the job," the company wrote.
Agents never handle private keys directly, according to Privy. Users retain ownership of the wallet and can revoke an agent's access at any time.
