Circle, issuer of the popular stablecoin USDC, on Tuesday unveiled an AI-friendly wallet and marketplace designed to let AI agents hold funds, discover services and transact on the internet.
The releases are part of a new "Circle Agent Stack" that would supposedly let AI agents act autonomously while operating within user-defined permissions and guardrails. In addition to Agent Wallets, Agent Marketplace, there is a Circle CLI, according to a press release. CLIs, short for command-line interface, allow AI agents to easily execute certain predefined commands.
The new marketplace will give users and agents "a structured place to discover, evaluate, and integrate agentic services," according to the release. "This helps move service access from human-scale subscriptions and manual integrations toward usage-based, programmable economic activity."
Circle joins Coinbase, Alchemy and a host of other crypto firms that are trying to get traction among AI app developers as potential payment solutions providers.
